When we get a used Market Forge Sterilizer in, we typically go ahead and replace the chamber. The chamber is the heart of a Market Forge. The chamber contains the built in heating elements so to replace the heating elements you must replace the chamber. That is necessary for maintenance and repair costs in the future. Replacing the other components is relatively inexpensive, but when the chamber or heating elements go bad, it's several hundred dollars.

• New Chamber and Heating Elements
• The new steam trap, which is what regulates the pressure and keeps steam flowing through the chamber and it also makes sure the cycle met the parameters for sterilization.
• The new 17 PSI pressure valve, which is an upgrade from the old 15 PSI valve that used to be the factory standard for these machines. The brand new machines now come with the 17 psi valve standard from the plant.
• New temperature gauge
• New pressure gauge
• New drain valve. These tend to go bad after a few years and can cause a pressure leak, which will keep the unit from functioning properly, so it's important that we replace these
• New door gasket - Check and lube door closure
• Brass fittings become corroded over time, so it is necessary to inspect and replace them.
• The electrical wiring is checked and replaced.
• Frame and out side panels are sandblasted and painted
• Replace safety mechanisms, controls, relays, condenser tube, overheat thermostat, valves, switches, filters and all other parts as needed.
• Test and calibrate to manufacturer's specifications.
• Repeated cycle testing for added assurance.
• Complete spore testing at various positions within the chamber.

So you can see every functioning component of the autoclave is new. The only parts of the sterilizer remaining from the original would be the frame, outside panels, the legs and fittings and wiring that passed the inspection.

The Market Forge Sterilmatic utilizes an optional stainless steel stand for the maximum desired compactness. Equipped with adjustable leg extensions the sturdy stand allows the autoclave to be installed and leveled over existing contours in the floor. Periodic cleaning is done with ease because the open design lends itself to maximum sanitary conditions. Though simple in design and appearance, the sterilmatic stand is the ideal arrangement for mounting in that it allows secondary air to circulate.

With the ability to sterilize everything from simple glassware and rubber gloves to flasked solutions up to 1/2 Gallon (2 liters) in volume, the Sterilmatic is the perfect companion to any well-equipped work area. Operating at 15psi, the Sterilmatic features a switch for instruments or liquids along with simple operating instructions.
